UIN Raden Fatah Holds Second Meeting with UI GreenMetric and SDGs Report Service

Raden Fatah State Islamic University (UIN) Palembang, through the Eco-green Campus Team, followed up on the first meeting of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2023 service package from the University of Indonesia (UI), as an effort to create a green campus that is sustainable and has international standards.

 

The second meeting of the UI GreenMetric 2023 service package and SDGs Report Service took place from 09-10 October 2023 at Campus B UIN Raden Fatah, Jakabaring, Palembang.

 

This activity is part of UIN Raden Fatah’s commitment to improving the quality of the campus environment towards sustainability and higher environmental awareness.

 

In this second meeting there were two assessors from UI GreenMetric, namely Prof. Ir. Gunawan Tjahjono, M.Arch., Ph.D. and Prof. Dr. Ir. Djoko M. Hartono, S.E., M.Eng.

 

This activity began with the opening and also an inspection/field visit of Campus B UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, including a visit to the 8 kWp PLTS, a visit to the campus B water canal, a visit to an integrated laboratory, and an integrated domestic IPAL.

 

UIN Chancellor Raden Fatah Prof. Nyayu Khodijah, S.Ag., M.Si said that UIN Raden Fatah Palembang has been a member of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings since 2020 until now. The UIN Raden Fatah Palembang score has increased every year, but not too significantly.

 

“In 2022, the increase in UIN Raden Fatah’s ranking itself will not be very significant, so in 2023 UIN Raden Fatah will strive hard to reach the top 20 positions,” said the Chancellor.

 

The Chancellor also hopes that all the efforts that have been made as a commitment to UIN Raden Fatah Palembang to become a sustainable green campus, can lead UIN Raden Fatah to a top 20 position.

 

Meanwhile Prof. Ir. Gunawan Tjahjono explained regarding the field visit report at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, Prof. Gunawan stated that UIN Raden Fatah could make a big contribution to government by collaborating with city governments to build and improve city civilization.

 

“In the future, UIN Raden Fatah can improve city civilization by collaborating with the city government and focusing on developing the fields it wants to develop by utilizing existing land,” said Prof. Gunawan.

 

Prof. Gunawan also said regarding the efficient use of space that had been implemented by the UIN Raden Fatah Palembang laboratory. Prof. Gunawan also expressed his appreciation to UIN Raden Fatah which has a very good Waste Water Treatment Plant (IPAL).

 

On the same occasion Dr. Prof. Dr. Ir. Djoko M. Hartono also explained the analysis of the UIN Raden Fatah Palembang fact file. Then continued with a presentation on filling out the UI GreenMetric questionnaire by Dr. Ir. Ledis Heru S. Putro, M. Si and Novin Teristiandi, M.Sc., as well as the SDGs Report Service presentation by Kusuma Kartika Hima Darmayanti, M.Si.

 

Also present at the second UI GreenMetric service meeting via zoom meeting was Prof. Riri Fitri Sari, MM., M.Si., who said that UI GreenMetric itself uses a very simple concept to create a comfortable and sustainable city.

 

“Hopefully with this activity the things that have been planned can become extraordinary things and with this UI GreenMetric activity it will be a starting point for UIN Raden Fatah to become even better,” he concluded.

UIN Raden Fatah committed to realize a Green Campus

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Report Team of Ecogreen Campus, UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, held the first assessment meeting with UI GreenMetric virtually on Friday, August 18, 2023.
Rector of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, Prof. Dr. Nyayu Khodijah S.Ag., M.Si, stated that the university was making maximal efforts to realize a sustainable green campus and become one of the higher education institutions demonstrating its concern for environmental issues.
“UIN Raden Fatah is committed to mapping out and taking concrete steps to achieve a sustainable eco-green campus.” She said.
In this virtual event, there were two assessors from UI GreenMetric. Firstly, Prof. Ir. Gunawan Tjahjono, M.Arch., Ph.D., presented material introducing SDGs Reports from various universities and self-evaluation of SDGs achievements. Secondly, Prof. Dr. Ir. Djoko M. Hartono, S.E., M.Eng, discussed reinforcing SDGs reporting by the Tri Dharma for Higher Education.
Prof. Djoko explained that the SDGs report aligned with Tri Dharma for Higher Education, encompassing education, research, community service, and the 17 sustainable development goals. Similarly, Prof. Gunawan Tjahjono emphasized that the university’s commitment to sustainable practices was based on its strategic plan, vision, mission, and Tri Dharma for Higher Education.
The event was also attended by Dr. Muhammad Adil, M.A., as Vice Rector of Education and Students Affairs, Dr. Abdul Hadi, M.Ag., as Vice Rector for Resources, Planning, and Finance, Dr. Hj. Hamidah, M.Ag. as Vice Rector for International Affairs, Collaboration, and Alumni Relations, Drs. H. Jumari Iswadi, M.M., as Head of the Bureau for Academic Administration, Students’ Affairs, and Cooperation, Dr. H. Dur Brutu, M.A., as Head of the Bureau for General Administration Planning and Finance. Dr. Ir. Ledis Heru Saryono Putro, M.Si. as Chief of Eco-Green Campus, and Deans of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang.
Vice-Rector for Resources, Planning, and Finance, Dr. Abdul Hadi, M.Ag urged the SDGs team to identify the unique aspects of UIN Raden Fatah and narrated them in the form of an SDGs Report, which would contribute to the institution’s progress. Then, it was continued with a presentation on the progress of the SDGs report from the head of the SDGs team at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, namely Kusumasari Kartika Hima Darmayanti, M.Si. “We ask for the cooperation of all academic constituents for the SDGs Team at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, and we will continue to maximize our reporting efforts,” said Kusumasari.

 

HUT ke- 78 RI, Rektor UIN Raden Fatah: Perguruan Tinggi Maksimalkan Bonus Demografi dan Kepercayaan Internasional

HUMAS-UINRF–  Rektor Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Raden Fatah Palembang Prof. Dr. Nyayu Khodijah, S.Ag., M. Si. memberikan amanat khusus kepada jajarannya pada peringatan HUT ke-78 Kemerdekaan Indonesia, di Lapangan Kampus Sudirman. Kamis, (17/8/2023)

Prof. Nyayu meminta civitas akademika terus memberikan kontribusi meningkatkan sumber daya manusia generasi muda, serta mengingatkan kembali pesan Presiden Jokowi tentang Indonesia menyongsong bonus demografi dan momentum kepercayaaan internasional.

Rektor Prof. Nyayu yang bertindak sebagai inspektur upacara membacakan sambutan Menteri Agama RI, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas  menuturkan, sebagai kementerian yang mengemban fungsi pendidikan, maka menjadi tugas Kementerian Agama untuk meningkatkan kualitas SDM pemuda Indonesia.

“UIN Raden Fatah sebagai perguruan tinggi yang memiliki fungsi pendidikan harus terus berupaya memberikan inovasi dalam ilmu pengetahuan. Perguruan tinggi mememiliki peran mempersiapkan penduduk usia produktif yang kompeten menyongsong masa depan dan persaingan global,” ungkap Prof. Nyayu.

Prof. Nyayu mengajak civitas akademika sesuai dengan arahan Menag agar menyonsong Indonesia Emas 2045 dengan terus membangun kepercayaan dunia internasional dengan merawat kerukunan dan koeksistensi.

“Perguruan tinggi harus menjadikan bonus demografi yang dimiliki Indonesia untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan dunia internasional,” ujar Prof. Nyayu.

Lebih lanjut Rektor juga menyampaikan bahwa UIN Raden Fatah terus bergerak memberikan banyak capaian dalam pengembangan dunia pendidikan. Diantara capaian-capaian tersebut yaitu bertambahnya jumlah guru besar, memiliki 28 jurnal terakreditasi nasional, capaian akreditasi A untuk perpustakaan univeritas, memiliki Lembaga Pemeriksa Halal, capaian program studi dengan akreditasi akreditasi unggul dan A terbaknyak di Sumatera Selatan, 95.5% program studi memiliki standar mutu Internasional melalui sertifikasi ISO 9001: 2015, menerima penghargaan leadership award, pencapaian Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU) sebesar 125%, Satuan Kerja Badan layanan Umum dengan kinerja tata Kelola keuangan terbaik katagori pagu besar, mendapat rekor dari Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia (MURI) untuk pantun moderasi beragama, dan menjalin sejumlah kerjasama nasional dan internasional.

“Semua capaian yang telah diraih UIN Raden Fatah merupakan keberhasilan bersama civitas akademika guna menyonsong Indonesia Emas 2045,” tutup Prof. Nyayu.

Guest Lecture “Marine and Coastal Ecology” in UIN Raden Fatah Palembang

The Faculty of Science and Technology at the State Islamic University Raden Fatah Palembang has been actively organizing guest lectures. The recent guest lecture on December 22, 2022, focused on the subject of Marine Ecosystems for the Biology Program. It was led by Mr. Tito Nurseha, S.Pd., M.Si. The guest lecture had the theme “Guest Lecture on Coastal and Marine Ecology,” presented by Putri Lisya Anggraini, M.Si, who is the founder of the Ecosociopreneur Institute.

The enthusiasm of the students during the lecture was evident, especially in the lively Q&A session. The event emphasized how ecotourism can be applied in coastal areas by optimizing marine ecology.

Furthermore, the course content and the guest lecture are closely related to one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically “Life Below Water” or marine ecosystems. In essence, this goal highlights the importance of individual efforts in protecting and sustainably utilizing oceans, seas, and marine resources. This aligns with global efforts to ensure the long-term health and viability of our marine environments
